3D Secure Security
Screening (CVC)
3D Secure screening means
that in order for the transaction to be complete the last three digits
of the number printed on the security strip on the reverse of the
credit/debit card has to be provided.
Verified by Visa (VbV) and
MasterCard SecureCode (MSC)
This is a fraud screening
initiative launched by the card schemes to provide a more secure method
for authenticating the cardholder at the time of the transaction.
This scheme is mandatory for
the processing of international Maestro cards, and will soon be made
mandatory for the processing of domestic Maestro cards.
Customers who have VbV or
MSC enabled cards will be taken to a confirmation screen hosted by YOUR
CARD ISSUER after entering card details in order for the card issuer to
verify and authorise the transaction. The customer will be asked to
enter the password which was previously established for the VbV or MSC
service for the card being used.
